About Me

I knew at very early age I was a sparkle princess, and would be always!
Growing up in Ohio, I was influenced by my Mom’s beautiful bead work and designs she created for our dance costumes and baton twirling outfits that were admired HeadShotwebaround the country. During the construction process, I was mesmerized by the color combinations and sparkle, which was never too much, and even remember testing the glittering pieces in front of mirrors in our garage and bathrooms because the lighting was just fabulous for achieving that spectacular high beam sparkle effect!

After attending Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, I headed to LA to work with a well known choreographer and became her dance protege. Again, sparkle and costumes were an integral part of my life.
Following that, I spent 8 years studying Japanese and the traditional dance in Nagoya, Japan. I was honored to achieve Natori status in the Fujima discipline of that cultural art form, and one day aspired to become the first western woman to dance at the Kabuki theatre in Tokyo. The dizzying array of gorgeous silks, kimono and intricate obi continued to satisfy my ‘color senses’.

I returned to the states in 1996 and before moving to Florida permanently in 2011, I was an Account Executive in the Washington DC/Maryland/Virginia area for a well established global Cosmetic company. Make-up counters were my creative playgrounds.

A few years ago I started dabbling in painting and figuring out how to incorporate sparkle into my designs, creating one of a kind wearable art pieces. I began ‘gifting’ my friends and family with hand painted, and sometimes ‘blinged’, butcher aprons. This year, 2015, BLiNG! My Apron by Tami was born.
Each apron is signed by me in Japanese Katakana characters, in honor of my time in Japan and love of the artistic culture, and numbered. Every one is unique, an abstract piece of art, and has a free form heart flowing through the design. Requests and Custom designs are limitless!
When I’m not creating on fabric, I love to play Pickleball and spend time with my family and my kitty. I am ALLways sparkly;)

I’m truly excited to be a part of this wonderful crafting community, and excited to bring my abstract designs and sparkle into your life. Enjoy!
